I really like your comment about the youngest member of the GB And the generation teaching. I'm using that with some of the JW's I still talk to that are in their late 30's. Nice thread!

Held my first "worldly" party last night

although i had some nonjw contacts in my life, i always held them at arms length and never really invited them to my place.

I used to have a lot of jw gatherings at my home and it's been the one thing I did miss since our fade. Although I had some nonJW contacts in my life, I always held them at arms length and never really invited them to my place. Well, I've opened up to this group over the last year about the issues with pedofiles within JW world, and the internal/external shunning policy. These girls have become the most wonderful group of women in my life. They are unconditional friends who have truly been there for me and know that friendship is supposed to be reciprocal (a sore spot in jw world, as many will take but not give).
Anyway, we had a blast Last night. Made Martini's, watched chick flicks and shared many laughs. If I could ever get photos to post on here I would add them.
To any current JW's reading this, give the nonJW people in your world a fair chance. Find activities you like, join clubs, volunteer...you'll meet great people and see how beautiful life is and that it's meant to be lived now...not some unknown time in the future. Life is so much better when you open your mind and give up black/white thinking.

Where the need is greater: TTATT in Spanish
by Londo111 init seems most of the us growth is in spanish-speaking territory, and of course, there is growth in the nations where spanish is the predominant language.
most sites oriented around ttatt, are english-speaking.
there seems then to be a great need for translators...for instance, imagine if there was a spanish version of www.jwfacts.com.. unfortunately, i dont speak this language.

Two years ago, we had three Sunday talks in a row that mentioned tattoo's in a quite rude, condescending manner.
We had visitors, with visible tattoo's the first two weeks...they never showed up again. I heard many things that raised red flags, but the cognitive dissonance kicked in.

Did your congregation have a "Pioneer Appreciation Day"?
by Coffee House Girl inmy mom (who is now a regular pioneer) has been laid up after having major surgery, and i assert my "biblical" rights as a daughter to do what i can to take care of her, so i have been trying to go to her house on my day off to vaccum and run errands for her since she is not supposed to drive.. she called me last saturday to tell me that i couldn't come by because she was driving to her pioneer appreciation day get-together, wtf .
i'm just curious if this only happens in my area (michigan, us)????.

My last hall had a family that hosted a party (gathering) for those that auxiliary pioneered during the Memorial season. I was in a conversation with one of the hosts and was invited...mistakenly. She actually second guessed inviting me and questioned if I had pioneered any of the months. No, I work full time as a single mom. I was disinvited and almost laughed at her.
